a summons under the seal of the Senate with the teste of the President and attestation of the Secretary, issue to the Selectmen and Clerk of the town of Wiscasset, in the County of Lincoln and to such other persons as the committee who have been appointed to examine the returns of votes from the several town and plantations in the State for Senators, may direct, to appear forthwith before said committee to give evidence of what they know respecting the proceedings of the last annual September meeting of the inhabitants of said town of Wiscasset.

On motion of Mr Ingalls, the vote inviting the Clergymen of Augusta to officiate as Chaplains of the Senate, was reconsidered and amended in such manner as to extend the invitation to the towns of Augusta and Hallowell, and passed as thus amended.
