The petition of certain inhabitants of Thorndike for an alternation of the laws relating to retailers, came up from the House referred to Messrs Shapleigh, Smith of Portland, and Lord with such as the Senate may join. The Senate concurred and joined Messrs Gibson and Goodwin.

The petition of inhabitants of Thorndike against extra Judicial oaths; " of James Rangley in relation to the taxation of township No 3, 2 Range in Oxford county; " of Edward Thompson for leave to sell nonresident lands; " of inhabitants of Cornville for separate representation; " of town of Fayette for the same privilege were severally read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary in concurrence.

Remonstrances of the town of Bluehill and Brooksville against the petition of the Selectmen of Eden; Petition of inhabitants of plantation No. 17 in Washington county to be incorporated into a town, were severally read and referred to the Joint Standing Committee on the incorporation of towns, in concurrence.

The petition of Asahel Brainerd for compensation for labor on public buildings was read and referred to the joint standing committee on Public Buildings, in concurred.
