Order from the House of Representatives instructing the committee on the Judiciary to enquire into the expediency of making provision by law that the State in criminal cases shall pay costs to defendants in cases where they may be acquitted, read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives instructing the committee on the Judiciary to enquire into the expediency of giving to the Municipal Court of the town of Portland the same jurisdiction with that exercised by Justices of the Peace in actions of replevin;

" that the same committee be instructed to enquire into the expediency of restraining or limiting the power exercised by the Supreme Judicial Court in granting new trials, read and passed in concurrence.
