Mr. Magoun of Bath then proposed to amend the second section by striking out after the word "District" in the 23. line, the following words - "In each of the foregoing Districts one Representative shall be chosen - The Counties of Lincoln and Waldo, shall compose one District and be called the Lincoln and Waldo District, in which two Representatives shall be chosen on one list" and insert the following - The County of Lincoln with the exception of the towns of Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Patrickton, Union, Friendship, St. George and Cushing in said County shall compose one District and be called the Lincoln District - The County of Waldo, together with the towns of Thomaston, Warren, Washington, Patrickton, Union, Friendship, St. George and Cushing in the County of Lincoln shall compose one District and be called the Waldo District - In each of the foregoing Districts one Representative shall be chosen - " and the question on so amending, on motion of Mr Shaw of Wiscasset was taken by Yeas and Nays and decided in the negative Yeas 55.
