The petition of Peter West and others praying for the erection of a State Insane Hospital. Read and referred to the Committee on State Hospital in concurrence.

The petition of Waldo T. Pierce and others praying for improvement of the navigation of the Penobscot River, above tide waters. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on State Lands in concurrence.

The petition of S. S. Simons and others to be incorporated into a Company by the name of the Ticonic Sluice Way Company. Read and referred to the joint Standing Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals in concurrence.

Mr Williamson from the joint Select Committee to whom was referred so much of the Governor's Message as relates to South Carolina, reported a Preamble and Resolves which were read once, and Wednesday next at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading. A Report from the minority of the Committee was also read and three hundred copies of each, ordered to be printed for the use of the Legislature.

A Communication from Roscoe G. Greene Secretary of State accompanied by certain Documents in relation to Agricultural premiums, was read and referred with the Documents to the joint Standing Committee on Agriculture. Sent down for concurrence.
