On motion of Mr Bradbury, Ordered, that a message be sent to the House of Representatives, proposing a Convention of the two branches of the Legislature in the Hall of Representatives, this day, at half past eleven o'clock A.M. for the purpose of qualifying John O'Brien and John H. Jarvis, Counsellors elect. Which message was delivered by the Secretary.

A message was received from the House, concurring in the foregoing proposition.

In Convention. Agreeably to assignment, the two Houses of the Legislature met in Convention for the purpose of qualifying Counsellors elect. Mr Cobb of the Senate was charged with a message informing John O'Brien and John H. Jarvis that the two Houses of the Legislature are now assembled in Convention in the Representatives Hall, and are now ready to administer to them the necessary oaths to qualify them to enter upon their official duties. When John O'Brien and John H. Jarvis came in and before the President of the Convention and in presence of both Houses of the Legislature, took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution, to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of their official duties; and the Convention separated.

In Senate. On motion of Mr Cogswell, ordered, that a special message be sent to the Governor and Council, informing that Body that John O'Brien and John H. Jarvis have been elected Counsellors to advise the Governor in
