Bill additional to establish the Damariscotta Canal, was read a second time and passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent down for concurrence.

A message from the Governor, transmitting the Report and Resolutions of the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, in relation to the Militia, and the public defence, was read and referred to the Committee on the Militia. Sent down for concurrence.

A message from the House, informing the Senate that the House had reconsidered their vote whereby they concurred the Senate in their proposition for a Convention this day at eleven o'clock for the purpose of electing a Treasurer of State, and requesting the concurrence of the Senate.

The Senate recede from their vote proposing a Convention of both branches of the Legislature this day at eleven o'clock for the purpose of electing a Treasurer of State, in concurrence with the House.

Order from the House of Representatives appointing Messrs. Buxton, McIntire, McClintock, Lake, Vose of Augusta, Chandler of Fryeburg, Spaulding, Stetson, Alden and Hobart a Committee with such as the Senate may join to consider the expediency of revising and making a new valuation for the several towns and plantations in the State for the year 1835 and report by Bill or otherwise, read and passed, and Messrs. Cobb, Pease Frye, Brown and Kelsey are joined in concurrence.

The Committee on Division of Towns reported leave to withdraw on petition of John Brown & others, read and accepted in concurrence.
