the abolition of the Court of Common Pleas and extension of the jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace &c which was read and referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion by Mr O'Brien of Brunswick Ordered, That the Committee on the Militia be directed to inquire into the expediency of appropriating a sum of money for the purpose of repairing the State's Gun House in Brunswick. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion by Mr. Vose of Augusta, Ordered, That the Committee on State Lands be instructed to inquire into the expediency of repealing a Resolve entitled "Resolve establishing a Board of Internal Improvements" passed February 28th 1834. Sent up for concurrence.

A communication was received from Mark Harris, Treasurer of State transmitting his annual Report of the State & transactions of the Treasury for the year 1834 which was read & referred to the Committee on Finance.

Petitions of William Ingalls for leave to change his name - - of Ezekiel H Page for a change of name were severally read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Petitions of William Walker & others to be set off from Freeport to North Yarmouth - of Charles Leavens & others to be set off from Brewer to Eddington - of P. Butler & others praying that a part of New Portland may be annexed to New Vineyard also
