On motion by Mr Jewett of Portland Ordered, That a Committee of this House with such as the Senate may join be appointed to consider what alterations, if any are necessary in the inspection laws now in force in this State and especially as they relate to the inspection of Butter, Lard and Markerel - and Messrs Jewett of Portland, Small of Machias Port & Mowry of Lubec - Sent up for concurrence.

An order came from the Senate referring so much of the Governors Message as relates to the Bank of the United States to Messrs Greene of Somerset, Barnard, & Smith with such as the House may join - and the House concurred & Messrs Cilley of Thomaston, Call of Bangor, Perkins of Kennebunkport, Brooks of Portland and Gove of Corinth were joined

An order came from the Senate referring so much of the Governors Message as relates to the curtailment of the privilege of issuing bills under the denomination of five dollars by Banks in this State & the circulation of bills within the State of foreign banks of denominations prohibited to Banks in our own State, be referred to the Joint Standing Committee on Banks & Banking and the House concurred.
