as the Senate may join to inquire into the expediency of granting to the Secretary of State a sum in full for his personal services - for Clerk hire. & for all expenses incurred for the performance of the duties of that office - and Messrs Phelps of Fairfield, McCrate of Nobleboro and Deering of Kittery were appointed said Committee on the part of the House. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolve providing for the purchase & distribution of Fairfields Reports, was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate

Petition of George Hussey praying to be set off from Falmouth to Westbrook was read & referred to the committee on Division of Towns. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of the Recorder of the Municipal Court in Portland for an increase of Salary, was read & referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of David Trask for a donation of land, was
