85. Saturday January 24, 1835.

Petition of the Selectmen of Perry, praying that the Indian Agent may be authorized to let Deacon Sockbasin improve a portion of the State's land at Pleasant Point in said town - read and referred to the Committee on State Land, in concurrence.

Petition of Albert G Brown and others for repeal of an Act regulating the length of logs cut on the Mattawamkeag River, and for an appropriation to clear out the obstructions on the same; Petition of Nathan Winslow and others for a Horse Ferry Boat on Penobscot River from Old town in Orono to Milford, severally read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.

Petition of Female Citizens of Brunswick for relief against the evils arising from the trade in ardent spirits came up from the House referred to the Committee on the Judiciary - read, and on motion of Mr Prescott, ordered to lie on the table and that five hundred copies be printed for the use of the Legislature.

Petition of the City Council of Portland for authority to lay out new Streets - read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, in concurrence.

The Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals reported order of notice on petition of David Bronson and others - read and accepted in concurrence
