Petition of Casco Bank, and " of Exchange Bank for increase of Capital came up from the House referred to the Committee on Banks and Banking - and the same, on motion of Mr Prescott, were ordered to lie on the table

Petition of E. H. Lombard and others, " of John Hubbard and others for a repeal of the law directing the use of Broad Rimmed Wheels in the town of Hallowell, Remonstrance of J. Nutter against the same Petition of William M. Rogers for leave to build a Dam across Winnequance Creek from the town of Bath to the town of Phipsburg; " of M. P. Sawyer and others to be incorporated by the name of the Kennebec River Log Driving Company - severally read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.

Petition of George M. Chase and others for the opening and making of a Road across No. 7, 8 and a part of No. 6, second Range, Washington County - read and referred to the Committee on State Roads. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of so amending the act of June 27, 1820, relating to the introduction of paupers from foreign ports, as that vessels and owners of vessels shall be liable in the same way as is provided by that Act for masters of vessels; and
