275. Bill for the relief of Poor Debtors was read the second time, sundry amendments proposed and adopted; and while the same was under consideration the Senate Adjourned.

Afternoon. Bill additional establishing the Kennebec Boom Corporation was read the second time and the same, on motion of Mr. Emmons, was ordered to lie on the table.

The consideration of the Bill for the relief of Poor Debtors was resumed and the same was further amended. Mr. Greene of York moved to strike out the words "who shall be freeholders" in the 35th line of the second section, and the question of thus striking out, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the negative as follows, to wit: Yeas. Messrs. Brown, Clark, Fish, F. Greene, Latham, Mantor, Miller and Purinton, 8. Nays. Messrs. Allen, Barnard, Bartlett, Burnham, Chandler, Emmons, Farnham, McLellan, Pierce and Randall, 10. Mr. Prescott was excused from voting on the question. The Bill, on motion of Mr. Prescott, was ordered to lie on the table till tomorrow. Adjourned. Attest, William Trafton, Secretary.
