276. Wednesday, March 11,1835. On motion of Mr. Barnard, Ordered, that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of repealing all laws in relation to fees, receivable by the Clerks of Courts for which they are accountable by law to the State; or so amend the laws as that said Clerks shall be made accountable for said fees to the County Treasurer --- read and passed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill to regulate Banks by prohibiting the emission and circulation of Bank Bills or notes of a small denomination (reported in new draft by Mr. Purinton from the Select Committee of the Senate to was referred Bill to prevent the circulation of Small Bank Bills) was read once and this afternoon at three o'clock assigned for a second reading.

Bill to incorporate the Kennebec Lumbering Company was taken up. The Senate recede from their vote of the 7th instant, passing the same to be engrossed, amend the amendment proposed by the House, and pass the same to be engrossed, as amended. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill for the preservation of the Salmon, Shad and Alewive fisheries on the Penobscot Bay and River and their tributary Streams was read the second time, & the same, on motion of Mr. Barnard, was ordered to lie on the table.
