was read a third time when Mr McIntire of Parsonsfield moved to amend by adding Section 4 in the words following "Be it further enacted That the several acts of incorporation of Banks in this state be so far altered and amended that Banks shall not be permitted to issue any Bill of a denomination between five and ten, or ten & twenty dollars from and after the passage of this act; nor shall they issue any bill of a denomination less than five dollars from and after the first day of June next. And the same prohibition shall extend to all Banks hereafter to be incorporated in this State" and the amendment was decided in the affirmative by yeas & nays as follows - yeas 97 nays 56 [ see appendix page 124.] and then the Bill was passed, with a further amendment, to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
