And I will also add that I never heard a lisp of complaint against you a dissatisfaction with you by a trustee. Miss. Meserve resigned before the present treasurer was elected. His predecessor, though a very good officer, had some peculiarities not agreeable to Miss. M.; and her temper was such that the two could not harmonize. I dont think I can recall the language of my resignation. But I remember distinctly that it was a simple resignation giving no reasons. I took occasion however to speak favorably of the condition of the hospital, its management and officers. The treasurer, seeing my resignation in the paper, wrote me and inquired my reasons. I answered his letter informing him in substance it was because the trustees persisted in trading with one of their member ( I had been trying for a whole year to have the thing corrected. The treasurer was willing to follow the directions of the trustees, but I could not get a vote
