[page 151] Q. Is it a fact that while you were there you lived better than the patients? A. Yes, sir. Q. Did you complain of that to the superintendent A. No, sir, it was not my business to complain to the superintendent of his own table scenting the room. Q, Did you live better on meats while you were there than your patients did? A. Yes, sir. Q. You had better meats than your patients? A. We had meat when they didn't have it. Q. That is not any question. Did you have better meat than they did? A. Some times; yes, sir; because- I knew of instances where it was reported to Dr. Harlow that the meat was not good on the table; I can not say, because Hamlin, the supervisor, said he brought some meat out to Dr. Harlow once; he is not here to testify. I did not see any more myself than those two instances I mentioned; but there were instances reported. Q. Have you any personal knowledge at all of ever mentioning two instances, the two which you have given to the committee?
