[page 186] Q. You have opportunities to see what the conduct of the patients is, and you have seen the attendants and the patients. Have you seen that the attendants paid sufficient attention to the patients? A. I dont know as I should be qualified to judge. When I am in there at work I am about my work, and if the attendants are in their room, I dont know but that they have a right there, at least, one of them Q. You say they are in their room? A. Some times, yes, sir. Q. Are they to such an extent as to attract your attention? A. Sometimes they are, yes, sir. Q. Has it ever attracted your attention that the patients were left above a good deal too much? Mr. Baker: I think certainly the gentleman has testified with great frankness and entire candor. Have you frequently heard the men attendants, any of them, complain that the attendants were off duty? A. I have heard the remark once
