Getting back to camp 21

Our army recrossed the river and moved back to camp.

6th We started for camp about sunset and we had a dark time of it. Got in about eleven o clock at night.

7th At our old camp cleaning ourselves and guns. Orders to be ready to move at an hours notice with three days rations in our haversacks.

8th Still in camp nothing new.

9th Fair and warm. Co drill.

10th Sunday. An inspection at nine o clock A.M. Divine service P.M. Got a letter from home and from Fredrick.

11th Drill twice 12th Drill twice and visited the 1st ME Cav'y.

13th Drill.

14th Went on picket

15th We took our turn on post. Got a letter from F.

16th Stay in resirv. Wrote a letter to Frances and Fredrick.

17th Returned to camp.

18th Our Regt marched to the R.R. station to escort the 17th NY regt to the cars. They belong to our brigade and was going home. 19th We went on a review near Falmoth and could see all over Fredricksburg
