Nov. 20th Near Chanslersville [Chancellorsville] 57 We lay still all day.

21st It comensed raining in the morning. Signed pay rolls P.M.

22d We are paid off

23d A drill

24th It rained in the morning. We started to march and only went about a mile and returned to camp.

25th We lay in camp all day.

26th We marched at six oclock in the morning. I was detaled for picket. We moved acrost the Rapidan river and near chanslersville [Chancellorsville] and camped till morning. I was on picket that night

27th We marched at sunrise in an easterly direction on a plank road, three or fore miles and then turned to the right. Our teams was attacked by the rebel cavelry. There was skirmishing in front all the afternoon. I saw Prentis and was with him all the evening.

28th We marched to the right and opened communication with the second corps.
