120 Gen Warren's close call

4th Continued. We have orders to be in readyness to move at any moment, with 4 days rations, and 50 rounds of amunition. I had some old camp and garison equipage condemned. The sick was sent away and I turned in thair rifles.

5th Looks like rain. We had roll call at 4 oclock in the morning got ready to move at 7. We marched to the yellow house and took the old Weldon R.R. and moved in the direction of Ream's Station about 4 miles. Then struck of to the west until about 4 oclock P.M. then camped on a hill some ways from Hatcher's Run. Genl Warren came near being taken Prisoner with his whole body guard lost but made out to escape. We lay down until about 10 oclock P.M. at which time we were rested up and started back to our right where thee 2nd corps had been fighting the afternoon. Before daylight we were on Hatchers run near the 2nd corps fought.

6th At daylight we took our position on the west side of the run behind
