42 June 1st We are in camp to day. nothing new of eny concequence.

June 2nd received orders again to march. this morning we have got everything ready to start at the word forward. at 2 oclock P.M. the orders have been countermanded and we are not going to start till tomorrow

June 3rd We broke up Camp this after noon at 2 oclock and started to go back into Old Virginia again got down to the river and found a large force

43 waiting to get ferried over the river having risd so it cannot be forded we waited till dark and could not git a chance to go over so we came back to our old camping ground and stayed all night. The rain pouring down in torrents.

June 4th We went down to the river again this morning to go over. it is still raining very hard. we stayed there till nearly noon and then we had order to go back to Camp and wait for farther orders.
