          It having been thought proper by the Officers of the 

Militia in general, in token of their readiness to turn out on the shortest notice in defence of their Country, to wear their uniform dress & the military cockade on Sundays, & on other public occasions; and the measure having been adopted by the Major-General & proposed to be put in practice by the Officers of the 8.Division:

        It is hereby recommended to the Officers of the 2. 

Brigade of said Division, to manifest their patriotism, military ardor, & actual readiness for any public exigency, by wearing their military dress, as aforesaid, in which measure they will have the countenance & example of their fellow citizen, & hble servt. [humble servant]
