Extract from the Treaty between the State of Massachusetts and the Penobscot Tribe of Indians
And provide them with a discreet man of a good moral character & Industrious habits, to instruct them in the arts of husbandry, and assist them in fencing and tilling their grounds & securing such articles of production as their lands are suitable for, and as will be most beneficial for them.
The delivery of the Articles of Protection supplied to commence in the month of Octr. and to be distributed at four different times in each year among the said Tribe in such manner as their wants shall be most effectively supported.
