John J Stover a private in Co (B) Second [______] Reg. claims to be absent by reason of discharge. dated Hales Hill Va January 18 1862 "by reason of Disability" signed Chas N Roberts Col Com. (health good) [underline good] - George N. Clay a private in Co. H 6th Reg. claims to be absent on furlough. dated Albany N.Y. July 21 1862 and runs to Aug 21 1862. signed G. T. Sprague Maj 1st Inf. U.S.A. [?]. Clay is not yet able to travel and I herewith report [strike through report] send the certificate of His attending physician Clay is very anxious to return as soon as able. The physicians certificate you will observe has been sent to Boston Mass and returned -
