The GP Unique
It's hard to find a hotter hatchback than the GP Unique. It's got massive intakes with arch extensions as well as an wing with two parts at the rear that's the kind of features typically reserved for glitzy French unicorns.
It's not just a look mean. It also feels fast. The engine is smooth, powerful, and its 332lb-ft of torque is available with no hassle under 1,750rpm. It's also a good match to the quick-shifting six-speed automatic transmission. It's a pity that the GP Unique doesn't have a manual option, but Mini does not mince words about its primary focus on lap times and an automatic is the best option here.
However, it's not without flaws. The GP Unique's suspension is firm but it's not a lot of fun. On a straight and smooth B road you can easily test the chassis's limits of dynamic, however, it's hard to stay fluid with your inputs. The front end can become a bit snatchy, and the car is prone to slipping under pressure by irregular British bumps.
When you dial into the GP Unique, its handling is excellent. Its abrasive front end and body control are redolent of the JCW race car we drove last year. On a slippery surface, and when you're in a determined mood, it's an absolute pleasure to drive.
The car's chassis is also very different to that of the regular MT-09 due to the fact it has much more torsional rigidity and bigger axles. The new GP's 24.7 degrees of rake, and 108mm trail feel more nose-heavy compared to the R6. However, it provides incredible stability at the turn.
Another great feature of GP is the PO Generator module. It lets you take a look at the inventory on hand, min/max levels that you've set up for each item as well as any open POs from your suppliers (ie more inventory is on the way) and then generate a list of suggested purchase orders that you can then send to your suppliers.
The GP 500
The GP 500 is Airoh's lightest GP helmet to date - aiding in reducing neck strain and fatigue, as well as increasing safety by reducing stress on the shoulders of the wearer. The shell is designed to be aerodynamic, and has the chin curtain spoiler, which helps enhance aerodynamics and minimize wind buffeting. Its EQRS Quick Release System is akin to the one that is found on many motorbike helmets that are track-focused. This allows emergency services to remove it without disturbing the wearer's head.
The GP500 as well as the majority of modern helmets, is Snell and SHARP-certified. It has a SHARP 3-star rating. It's not the top rating, but it is still a good one considering that it provides front to side and back impact protection.
In terms of image quality is related, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The GP500 is capable of projecting images up to 4K and it managed to do it with impressive clarity. It also had very low input delays when both Game Mode and Fast Mode were enabled, as per BenQ's published specifications.
In terms of accuracy of the color, it was very close to perfection with an DeltaE error of only 2.3 - which is very good. It also showed excellent grayscale performance, with clear and distinct shades. The GP500 displayed subtle rainbow colors when watching the Adam Project. These were very easy to spot, but they were not intrusive and did not impact the viewing experience.
The sound quality is also remarkable. The GP500 features an independent DSP chip that is integrated with treVolo Psychoacoustic Tuning which creates 3D audio effects. It uses an internal quad-speaker layout that is placed in every corner of the cabinet. This is designed to create an audio field that is immersive for everyone, regardless of where they are seated within the room.
There are several options for connectivity that include HDMI inputs 1 3, 2 and 3, and an optical Toslink SPDIF port for passing native Dolby Atmos bitstreams to an external sound bar. The GP500 has a pair of Type-A USB 2.0 ports for streaming content, and it comes with a 12-volt trigger to allow an electric screen.

It is powered by four alkaline batteries connected in series. The GP-1000 can directly read up to 25 gases that are targeted for analysis, and features a large clear, easy-to-read display that is easy to read. The GP 900
Sceptics will point out that the GP is just a naked XSR900 dressed in a Wayne Rainey frock, but the truth is that Yamaha's engineers have worked hard to create a sincere and powerful tribute to its legendary sporty heritage. The GP's brand-new Deltabox frame and swingarm are 55mm taller, but feel much more compact in corners due to the altered chassis geometry. Meanwhile, a full-spec 6-axis IMU provides a range of electronic riding aids to the platform, and KYB suspension is upgraded with a larger front fork and a larger wheelbase.
The GP's cowl that is symmetrically shaped is a clever trick. Two air vents are located in the cowl in order to reduce the pressure inside and disperse heat generated by the motor. This creates a sleeker look and lowers the bike's centre of gravity. The GP's TFT color display that displays messages and calls and lets you choose between Garmin StreetCross Navigation and turn-by-turn directions (free the first year) is an improvement that is welcome.
The GP offers three pre-set riding mode options, plus a customizable setting that can be changed manually by the rider. A new suite of technology that is connected to smartphones is also included in the GP receiving a YConnect app to integrate smartphones and media controls, as in addition to cruise control and a new USB Type C socket for charging of gadgets.
The GP 900 is a great machine with a sports heritage however, it is also an excellent commuter or Sunday blaster. The 117bhp CP3 engine is very user-friendly and has a wide range of power that can be utilized at low revs. Even at road speeds the GP's midrange power can be enough to alter your speed/time/distance calculations and completely dissect Google Maps estimated time of arrival. The GP's chassis is just right - it's not as wrist-achingly stiff as an R6 or as light and agile as a TT500. It's a lot of fun to ride and an absolute blast.
