During the follow-up period of 12 months, the incidence of long-term complications was 3.74% (4/107), including 2 cases of catheter-related infection and 2 cases of fibrin sheath formation. No serious complications such as catheter malposition or rupture were found. Conclusion US-guided TIVAP via the BCV offers an alternative for adults with good needle guidance and a low rate of perioperative and postoperative complications.Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most prevalent primary hepatic cancer in children aged 6 months to 3 years. LIN28A is recurrently mutated in various diseases, and critically involved in tumorigenesis. However, a limited number of studies have examined the involvement of LIN28A polymorphisms in HB risk. We used the TaqMan assay to genotype four LIN28A polymorphisms (rs3811464 G>A, rs3811463 T>C, rs34787247 G>A, and rs11247957 G>A) in 275 Chinese children with HB and 1018 cancer-free controls from five medical centers in China. Their association with HB risk was evaluated on the basis of odds ratio (OR) and corresponding 95% confidence interval (CI). Overall, no significant associations were found in single locus and combine analysis. Interestingly, in the stratified analysis, we found that subjects with 1-3 risk genotypes were more likely to develop HB in patients ≥17 months of age (adjusted OR=1.76, 95% CI=1.04-2.98, P=0.034). The rs3811464 GA/AA genotypes were associated with decrease HB risk in patients with clinical stage III+IV disease (adjusted OR=0.50, 95% CI=0.26-0.96, P=0.038). Our results suggest that the LIN28A polymorphisms have a weak association with HB susceptibility in the Chinese children. LIN28A rs3811464 G>A may decrease HB risk in stage III+IV patients which need further validations with larger samples and different ethnicities. Objective The aims of this study were to investigate the incidence, risk factors and prognosis of pituitary hemorrhage in pituitary adenomas treated with gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS). Methods and materials Between December 1993 and December 2016, 751 consecutive pituitary adenoma patients treated with GKRS were retrospectively reviewed in a single center. There were 271 male (36.1%) and 480 female (63.9%) patients with a median age of 38.5 (range, 7.2-84.0) years. The number of nonfunctioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs) and functioning pituitary adenomas were 369 (49.1%) and 382 (50.9%) respectively. The median follow-up time was 61.1 (range, 12.1-304.4) months. Results In this study, 88 patients (11.7%) were diagnosed with pituitary hemorrhage before GKRS, 55 patients (7.3%) developed new or worsened pituitary hemorrhage after GKRS (excluding 3 patients with new or worsened pituitary hemorrhage due to tumor regrowth). The median time to new or worsened pituitary hemorrhage after GKRS was 18.9 (range 3.1-70 precipitating factor of pituitary hemorrhage.Purpose To evaluate diagnostic and predictive values of the serum vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) level and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. Methods From January 2018 to April 2020, we prospectively enrolled 59 untreated SCLC patients in the study group and 50 non-neoplastic patients in the control group. Blood samples were collected at baseline, after the first two cycles of chemotherapy and at progression in the study group and at entry in the control group. Serum VEGF-A was measured by chemiluminescence, SII was calculated based on complete blood count results, and the relationship between the VEGF-A/SII and clinicopathological characteristics, chemotherapeutic efficacy and progression-free survival (PFS) of SCLC patients was analyzed. Results Baseline serum VEGF-A was significantly higher in SCLC patients than in non-neoplastic patients (P0.050). Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses suggested that baseline VEGF-A (HR 3.443, 95% CI 1.330-8.908, P=0.011) was an independent prognostic factor for PFS in SCLC patients. Conclusions Baseline serum VEGF-A and SII are associated with important clinicopathological characteristics of SCLC patients. VEGF-A, but not SII, has the ability of diagnosis and predicting first-line chemotherapeutic efficacy and prognosis in SCLC patients. Background Insulin-like growth factor binding protein-7 (IGFBP7) contributes to multiple biological processes in various tumors. However, the role of IGFBP7 in gastric cancer (GC) is still undetermined. The study aims to explore the role of IGFBP7 in GC via an integrated bioinformatics analysis. Methods IGFBP7 expression levels in GC and its normal gastric tissues were analyzed using multiple databases, including the Tumor Immune Estimation Resource (TIMER), Oncomine, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases, as well as by our clinical gastric specimens. The methylation analysis was conducted with MEXPRESS, UALCAN and Xena online tools. The survival analysis was conducted using the Kaplan-Meier Plotter and Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) databases. Coexpressed genes of IGFBP7 were selected with the cBioPortal tool and enrichment analysis was conducted with the clusterProfiler package in R software. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was performed to ex macrophages (TAMs). Conclusions Increased IGFBP7 expression correlates with poor prognosis and immune cell infiltration in GC, which might be a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of GC.Background and Aims Malignant biliary obstruction is always caused by tumors which are unresectable so that palliative stent placement is conducted for drainage of bile duct tree. Recently, irradiation stent with 125I seeds has been used to improve the stent patency and survival time of patients. We conducted this meta-analysis to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of biliary stent placement with 125I seeds compared with stent placement alone in patients with malignant biliary obstruction. Methods We searched Pubmed, Web of Science, ClinicalTrials.gov, Cochrane Library, Embase and CNKI databases for all relevant studies up to 1 May 2020. selleck inhibitor Patient survival, stent patency, and adverse events were the primary outcome measured. Also, Review Manager 5.3 and Stata/SE15.0 were used to perform the analysis. Results Eleven randomized controlled trials with a total of 767 patients were included for meta-analysis. Stent combined with 125I seeds showed lower risk of stent occlusion at 3 month (Odds Ratios(OR) = 0.
