The challenge when performing cytoreductive surgery (CRS) is to balance the benefits and risks. The aim of this study was to report short term postoperative morbidity and mortality in relation to surgical outcome in patients undergoing primary debulking surgery (PDS) or interval debulking (IDS) surgery in the Netherlands.

The Dutch Gynecological Oncology Audit (DGOA) was used for retrospective analysis. Patients undergoing PDS or IDS between January 1st, 2015 - December 31st, 2018 were included. Outcome was frequency of postoperative complications. Median time to adjuvant chemotherapy and severity of complications were related to outcome of CRS. Complications with Clavien-Dindo ≥3 were analyzed per region and case mix corrected. Statistical analysis was performed with R.Studio.

1027 patients with PDS and 1355 patients with IDS were included. Complications with re-invention were significantly higher in PDS compared to IDS (5.7% vs. 3.6%, p = 0.048). Complete cytoreduction was 69.7% in PDS and 62.1% IDS, the surgical procedure with respect to severe complications is underlined. Bench marked data should be discussed nationally to improve this balance.

To externally validate the performance of the Mayo triage algorithm applied to treatment strategy management in advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (AEOC) patients.

AEOC patients who underwent primary debulking surgery (PDS) were included and were divided into two groups based on the Mayo triage algorithm "high risk" and "triage appropriate". The surgery outcomes and complications of the patients were compared between the two groups.

179 consecutive AEOC patients were enrolled for analysis, including 32 patients in the high-risk group and 147 patients in the triage-appropriate group. The results showed that patients in the high-risk group were older, had worse physical status and had lower preoperative serum albumin than those in the triage-appropriate group (P<0.01). The high-risk group had a lower proportion of women who underwent intermediate/high complexity surgery (38% vs. 72%, P<0.01) as well as a lower proportion of women who underwent optimal resection (50% vs. 71%, P<0.05). Furthermore,y used for the individualized primary management of high-risk AEOC patients. The feasibility of the Mayo triage algorithm for use in long-term management should be further explored.

This scoping review was carried out following the criteria and flow diagram established in the PRISMA guidelines and included studies from 2011 until 2020 from electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science.

A total of 13 randomized controlled trials were included. this website The sample's average age was 72.2 years, with an age range between 71 and 80 years, considering a total sample of 1029 older adults (57% women). Resistance training-based programs were carried out mainly in university facilities, presented high adherence (91.2%) and were able to induce increase in strength and muscle mass. The most frequent parameters used were 2-3 weekly, 50-90-min-long sessions for 3-9 months, using between 8 and 15 repetitions, in an intense training zone with 1-RM between 60% and 85%. The most measured physical health outcomes were muscle strength, muscle mass, and BMI. Cognitive impairment was frequently evaluated, and few studies evaluated mental health.

In recent year it has become clear that these membrane modifications also regulate endo- and exocytosis. Here I will discuss recent evidence of how such non-canonical functions of the macroautophagy machinery with its autophagy related gene (atg) products influences infectious viral particle secretion, inflammation, and MHC restricted antigen presentation. Especially LC3-Associated Phagocytosis and ATG supported exocytosis will be high-lighted during immunity and infection.
