The recipient is William King (1768-1852), who was a member of the Massachusetts Senate in 1807-11, and the first Governor of Maine in 1820-21.
The subject of this petition is Seth S. Fairfield (1790-1863). He was trained as a surveyor, served as a York County Justice, and later had a long career as a banker in Biddeford and Saco.
