It will be recollected, I was appointed one of the Sessions Justices, (it having been done without my knowledge,) but I have not been qualified as this interferes with my professional duties and would therefore be of no profit, if not a sacrifice [?] of interest, whereas the office of Judge [underlined] of Probate [underlined] would not. As it is now a time of general quiet, I should prefer, having this question laid before the Hon-- [?] Council at their next meeting of the Board, should your Excellency, be pleased to favour my application. As I am the eldest Councellor at Law in the County, and now my own advocate, [underlined] in justice to my Client, [underlined] I must say I think myself competent to discharge the duties
