of towns and assessors of plantation, to notify the inhabitants thereof to give in their votes, on the question at their next annual meeting in the month of September, agreeably to the several provisions of said Constitution - read and passed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred and Messrs. Johnson of Cornish, Buzzell of Cape Elizabeth, Seaver of South Berwick, Rea of Brooksville, Hopkins of Jones Port, Getchell of Waterville and Smith of Norway were joined.

Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of altering and amending the law relative to the appointment of County Commissioners, so that they may be elected by the people - read and passed, in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Militia, to inquire into the expediency of so altering and amending the law, that all who are required to do military duty and do actually perform the same, shall have some suitable compensation for thier service - and also of the expediency of only requiring active duly of volunteer corps - read and passed, in concurrence.
