Agreeably to assignment the House proceeded by ballot to the choice of a Major General for the Fourth Division, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Major General McCobb: on receiving sorting, counting & declaring the ballots it appeared the whole number given in was 117 necessary to a choice 59 James McLellan, Esq. of Bath had 77 and is declared chosen on the part of the House. Sent up for concurrence in the election of James McLellan as Major General for the 4th Division.
