Mr Samuel F Husrey, Indian Agent.

Sir - I am desired by Gov. Lincoln to give you what information might be in my power, respecting the rights of the Penobscot Indians to certain fishing privileges, upon which subject you recently addressed a communication to him. I would state, there fore, for your information, that the subject has already been attended to at the request of the Priest [underlined] who by the charge of the Indians. Most of the documents relating to the subject being in the Land Office, Mr Coffin the land agent [inserted] examined the matter, & furnished a gentleman by the name of Valley (who appeared at the quest of the said Priest, with all the documents & information in his power. We also issued a prohibition
