In the name of God amen; on the Fixteenth day of July, Anno Domini one thoufand feven hun- dred and feventy feven, I Tilley Haggens of Ber- wick in the county of York and Ftate of Mafsachufetts Bay in New England, Merchant, being aged and infirm of body, but by the goodnefs of God of found memory, and knowing I muft in a little time go the way of all the Earth I do therefore make and ordain this to be my last Will & Teftament, wherein I recommend my Body to the earth for decent burial at the difcretion of any Executors herein after named, and my Soul to God who gave it, hoping for mercy through Jefus Chrift our Lord: and to what wordly Eftate I have of all and every kind real or per- fonal, I do give and dispofe of the fame in the following manner, vizt,

Imprimis. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Haggens, one third part of my real Eftate for her improv- ment during her natural life, and also all my stock of crea tures and indoor moveables, alfo all my Negroes, except such as I fhall dispofe of hereafter in this my will; all to be at her difpofing to and amongst my children as fhe shall {shall lined through] thinks proper and one half of the buildings on the home- stead during her life: and liberty for to cut firewood on any of the lots, and alfo one third of my money or notes due to me. I also give her the improvement of my fon Edmond's part for his bringing up, as long as fhe remains my widow. Item.
