Agreeably to the order of the Convention passed this morning the Convention reassembled in the Representatives Chamber at three oclock PM - when the Chairman, decided the motion made by Mr Smith of Nobleboro, to be out of order - Mr Megguire moved an appeal from the decision of the Chairman upon that question and the question "Shall the decision of the Chair stand as the Judgement of the Convention" was then put to the Convention and decided in the affirmative as follows Yeas 87 Nays 70 (See appendix page 319) Mr Dunlap of the Senate then read a Protest signed by himself and others, ( for which see appendix page) which
