Q. Did you then see the patient in her
room A. I did.
Q. And what did you find A. I found
that her face was black, extending over
both eyes and under them, as though a
blow might have been in the center of the forehead or might have been on the side
Q. Does it often occur that a blow
which leaves no visible marks at the
time, in the eyes or between the eyes,
or above the eyes, afterwards produces
blackness which remains for a long time
A. Very often. The blood settles under
the eye after the blow
Q. And shortly after a blow, a half a
day or so, it might not show at
all? A. It may not
Q. In your judgment were the results
you found on this patient the results
of a very severe blow or otherwise
A. Not a very severe blow.
Q. Did you inquire into the matter
A. I did.
Q. Satisfy yourself of what had taken place
A. Yes sir.
