A. If you were interested and wanted to find fault with Dr. Harlow, you could see many things that you would condemn, if on the other hand you thought that he was doing what he ought to do you would not take that side. There are 24 halls , 12 on each side, and it is impossible for 12 men to know what is going on in 24 halls at the same time. When Dr. Harlow can find out anything that is going on by any means he always looks after it, but if he does not know it, of course he does not know anything about it. I do not want it understood that I stand here as a witness and say there are no abuses there, there are abuses, there are people who have not been well used over there, from their disposition and general temperament, but when these cases come to Dr. Harlow, he says you are a sane man and you are dealing with an insane man, consequently I shall not excuse you for anything, but the insane man we do not want to call to account.
