Freeport August 24th 1820 Sir. A few years since I was requested to take a quarters commission, but on (scratched out) account of my other business declined. If your Honor together with the Council should think me a suitable person, I should like now to obtain one--- Through all [the?] unable for office under the new government I have [ ] since quietly at home and have sought for no office--I now [ ] a small one, but if you should think it inexpedient, I shall readily acquiesce in your opinions your very humble servant Saml Holbrook Ho.
