A. I have, and outside also Q. But the rule you adopt in reference to patients--A. In reference to patients inside has not been practice of that kind. We have had cases there of childbirth, in years past, where they have [crossed out] come and have had children sooner than we expected. I know there was a case in the days of Dr. Bates. I was with Dr. Bates then. Q. In this case you attended to it yourself when you found it had to be done A. Yes sir. After the patient was all quiet I simply wrote to the husband stating what occurred. Q. When you went in the first time alone did you make examination enough to discern the condition of the patient A. No; I simply found this flowing and I didn't suspect any thing more than perhaps than a profuse menstrual period. Q. You made no personal examination at the time A. No sir. I didn't. suspect there was any thing of the kind at that time.
