A. (cont.) should think it had been progressive ever since I have been acquainted with it. When I went there all the water they had except what they hauled from the river was caught from the eaves and brought from a spring through a three inch pipe and oftentimes not water enough to fill that. When I left they were at work upon the waterworks. The ventilation was commenced before I left. I was through the halls yesterday, and in the attic, the ventilation all went up into the attic, all the pipes to ventilate went up into the attic

Yesterday the air was good as it is in this room. In point of construction  our asylum was behind others, it began earlier and having begun on a system it could not very well change.
