/Carr Petition Sept 1 1820

To William King Esquire Governor & the Hon. Council of the State of Maine,

In case of a removal of the present sheriff of the county of Penobscot we the subscribers would respectfully recommend Joseph Carr Esq. of Bangor as a gentleman well qualified to fill that office & request that he be appointed.
