no justice business[?]. In Ellsworth[?] there are now five justices [?] four[?] federalists (of whom one is an Englishman) [?] [?]. This Brimmer[?] is a [?]man by birth, & a tory by education, he is no admirer of a King unless[?] he wear[?] a crown upon his head & he[?] has never been though[?] of consequence enough[?] by his political friends to be made a justice of. If appointed he would be entirely[?] under the influence of the federal lawyer at Ellsworth[?], & in giving[?] [?] he would look rather to the political sentiments[?] of the justices than to the merits[?] of the [?]

Should any corroboration of my opinion be required I do not hesitate to say that it may be procured from every republican in Ellsworth[?] whose opinion ought[?] to be of any weight.
