Dear Sir as the council set[?] next[?] week, I wish to repeat, that the register of probate in this county had better remain for the present. His continuance will have a tendency to keep all things quiet.

The appointments of clerk and sheriff are much to be desired & I [?][underlined] they may not be delayed [?], [?] in getting [?] petitions[?] for [?] in every[underlined] part of
