Dear Mrs. Eckstorm,
I enclose Shay's contribution. Am inclined to remark Oh, H-- ! I may try mattakeeunk on him, when I get my wind.
Am mean enough to enclose a copy of my Nigwamkeag card, as far as I've got. You see how those -amaks [amks inscribed below] go, & the sand words. But I won't myself tackle your Penobs. names by vocabulary, if I guessed it would be that there is a shoal at Nig.
Thanks about the Aubery matter. I haven't much spirit to get at it, at the moment, a niece, living near Portland, was in the Society for awhile & would have some approach. Wants me to visit them, her husband & 2 boys. The Shay debacle is discouraging, when I saw the letter this morning I expected some thing worth while. His name seems to be our Nolesemic [?] , or looks like it.
