The Fight at Spanmook [?] - as told by Clara Neptune 1917.
Dose people he live down dere, his wife and his sister and little baby. When he go down main ribber see leetle sign camps dere's ever comin'. Den put up partrick's head dis [one underlined] way. (that is stuck it up with bill pointing in the direction they were going)
When Mohawks come be see dat, he don't been way to Oldtown, thinks dis way Oldtown. Dis mean go down Oldtown let em hear Mohawk close by. All men gone huntin', only boys, one old man down dere says, We got meet 'um, dose women's dere. We meet um down dere Nacksacktuck [?]. When he go in dere he see leetle bundles hanging he go by. When he come middle pond he see dose Mohawks standin'.
Mohawk he sees only old man leetle boys. "Just few minutes an kill every one of 'em" "Let's smoke".
