I have been puzzled to account for this paucity of aboriginal land markers. There are no evidences of occupation, as shell leafs. Probably for the lack of clam 'flats.' As far as I know, no burial mounds have been located. Lever called it a deserted territory as far as Indians were concerned in 1624 but referred to their planting fields (?).
