In Senate.

On motion of Mr Carr, Ordered, that a special Message be sent to the Governor and Council, informing that body that William Dunn, Joseph Johnson, Josiah Merrow, Samuel Varie and David W. Lothrop have been duly elected Councilors to advise the Governor in the Executive part of the Government for the current political year, and that they are duly qualified as the Constitution directs to enter upon the discharge of their official duties - which message was delivered by Mr Carr.

Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire whether any and what alterations of the laws of this State regulating the taking of excessive usury, is necessary read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives, directing the Committee on Agriculture to inquire into the expediency of repealing the law of 1836, relating to the inspection of Pot and Pearl Ashes read and passed in concurrence.
