a large amount of heat in the boiler due to the fire which was simply banked and a considerably high pressure of steam, and the result is there is more heat furnished in that way than is required for the lodges, and the values have to be controlled accordingly. So that now there is steam day and night This was effected by the running of perhaps 150 feet of one inch pipe in each case, the introduction of one valve, costing perhaps $10 or $15 in each case. I should say that from time to time we have put in small local coils by order of the superintendent at the ends of some of the halls wherever he has desired it from time to time These local coils would give them perhaps 30 to 50 and possibly 60 to 70 ft. of pipe. It would be a very small affair as compared with the large coil underneath, but might attract the attention of an attendant not familiar with steam matters and look to him as though it was much more efficient than a larger matter
