1171 A. ( cont.) he would come back. I told him that I would go on that way and see. If I didn't come back pretty soon he had better take a horse and drive out to Togus and bring me in. He said no, if I was going after him he would go too, so we started o after him as rapidly as we thought prudent. We knew we had got quite a long haul, and we followed until we came to the road and then it was heavy traveling, the ground being soft through the fields. I frequently sunk into the water and mud considerably deep. We followed him I should judge about 2 miles from the hospital, when he was overtaken by Samson. I was in sight but my strength didn't carry me quite so far as Samson's did, and they sat down quite awhile and I sat down too. I didn't go where they were, but could see them all the time. After awhile they started back, and when they came back where I was, I took hold of Bangs shoulder and I think Samson had hold of the other shoulder.
