1193 A. (cont.) very liable to err. Testimony by Fred C Richards, Sworn By Mr. Baker Q. Residence Camden? A. Yes Q. Business? A. Manufacturer of lime, general shipping merchant. Q. Were you a member of the board of trustees of the asylum at one time? A. I was, was appointed the last of May 1877 in place of Mr. Wakefield, and remained till removed by Gov. Garcelon in Feby 1879. Q. have you also served as a member of the visiting committee on part of the council? A. Yes, I was appointed chairman of that committee by Gov. Dingley in 1875 and appointed by Gov. Connel in 1876. Q. When you served as visiting committee you never had up to that time been connected to the institution in any way? A. No sir. Q. As one of the visiting committee and afterwards as a trustee did you occasion to make frequent examinations of the asylum, its management, its patients, etc.
